Yahoo Site Explorer Alternatives. Backlink Checker and Backlink Tools.
Yahoo Site Explorer shut down and Bing webmaster tools doesn’t help. Then how to get back link and backlink checker? Don’t worry.
I collect all the tools that I know, and maybe these tools can help you! (To avoid too much live links on this page, you should search the keyword in google, it usually stay at the NO.1 place. For example, when I mentioned “Open Site Explorer”, you can search it in google and it is NO.1)
Free Tools:
1. Blekko
Blekko will definitely rise in popularity. Unlike in Yahoo Open Site Explorer, you can check out up to a number of 2,500 backlinks in Blekko. BUT Blekko also shows lesser quantity of backlinks compared to Yahoo Site Explorer.
2. Exalead
Exalead looks like a promising tool in replacement of Yahoo Site Explorer.You have to type in link:your-domain-name.com in order to get the list of backlinks of that site.It also gives you the title and the URL of where your links are coming from. Pretty good!
3. Link Diagnosis
LinkDiagnosis can analyze your backlinks, your indexation or report on the age of the page for any domain. This tool caught my attention because it’s free and it uses SEOMoz Metrics to go with your backlink data. Unfortunately, like most ‘free’ backlink checking tools, Link Diagnosis only shows you the first 250 backlinks and then asks you install a Firefox toolbar in order to see the rest.
Paid Tools:
1. Open Site Explorer
Open Site Explorer is a full-featured link data analysis tool that also happens to be extremely easy to use in the bargain.Open Site Explorer does what Yahoo pretty much does except that it includes more data like nofollow/dofollow, anchor text, Page Authority and Domain authority.Designed by SEO professionals for SEO professionals, it puts all the data you need at your fingertips.
2. MajesticSEO
Majestic SEO is a link analysis tool, with an index of 52 billion pages, a record of 350 unique URLs and 2.6 trillion mapping relationships (URL pointing to URL). Majestic SEO offers many options to filter and analyze their data. Standard information, such as anchor text, top linking domains, IP addresses, TLDs and important pages can be checked within a few clicks. For further analysis, you can apply additional filters, for example to filter out all low quality websites or links to pages with an affiliate ID.
3. SEO SpyGlass
SEO Spyglass is basically a backlink analyzer with lots of bells and whistles that let you analyze your competitors site. The backlink data doesn’t come from Yahoo Site Explorer (obviously) but the tool sources its backlink results to each and every other available search engine or backlink checking tool out there. If you are looking to gain a competitive edge over your competitors then it is a perfect remedy.
4. Link Research Tools
Link Research Tools can definitely optimize the efficiency of your link building campaigns, while the amount of reports you can run will be sufficient for every in-house link builder, and for most search engine marketing agencies too.
5. Ahrefs
The new tool for backlinks analysis is available at since march 2011. It provides lots of useful backlinks statistics for your and your competitors’ (or everyone else’s) sites. With the recent launch of SERP database analysis Ahrefs has become “two in one” project. SERP’s database uses about 45 mln keywords. It contains 9 databases of keywords for different countries. Only those keywords, which are searched for more than 30 times a month, are included into this database, thus only important info is given, without unnecessary garbage reports.
Not recommended:
1. SEO Attack
I really don’t recommend this tool. The results is too few!
2. Backlink Watch
It’s ad-heavy and it even has an irritating pop-up once you open the page. Not recommended!
